Ahhh... the True Motive for Alhambra's zeal

The face Alhambra puts on the Freeway is that they want to relieve traffic on Valley and Fremont. Yet, Alhambra plans roughly 3,000,000 square feet of office, industrial and big-box retail straddling both sides of Fremont Avenue at its most congested point.

They have also proposed to annex a section of Northeast L.A. that will be isolated from Los Angeles by the Freeway.

Pasadena's redevelopment plans have been completed and it's become one of the most successful Main St. revitalization projects in the country without the Freeway completion.
